Appointments
December 21st we had Wynter appointment and testing at the Children's Hospital in the Neurology Clinic. I finally got the report back and have yet to hear back from them to set up a phone conference to go over the results. Not sure how long that is going to take, so I will write what he said in some parts, even if I don't understand them completely.
Diagnostic Impression:
1) Turner Syndrome
2) Attention disorder, by history (My brother had ADHD and so did Barry's brothers)
3) Speech sound disorder (Not sure what this means)
4) Language disorder (Not sure what this means)
5) Deficient non-verbal reasoning and spatial skills, secondary to #1
Recommendations:
1) Maximize her IEP at school for speech and language therapy.
2) Typical with TS, their reading skills are behind. Start with an early phonics-based reading intervention.
3) Typical with TS, More help with Math skills
4) Shorter time periods to work & use a visible timer so she knows how long she has. It keeps her motivated.
5) Re-evaluation in 18-24 months.
I gave her teachers a copy of the report so they can start helping her better at school. Once I get a phone conference, I will update as I understand it better. In addition, Wynter's ENT appointment is scheduled for Tuesday.
