Wynter's TS Appointment
We had to drive 2 hours away for Wynter's doctor's appointment and then sat there for 3 hours and then another 2 hours back home. Needless to say, it was a very long day and I am glad it is almost over with. Unfortunately, Barry had to go into work tonight as soon as we got home and he changed.
Anywho, Wynter is 35.3 inches in height and 27.5 lbs. She grew a good amount since our last appointment in May 2009, right before we left Germany. The doctor seemed very nice and even said coming back every 3 months is pretty pointless so we only have to see her every 6 months. Woohoo! She also increased Wynter's growth hormone dosage but not by much. I guess it goes off the weight of the person.
We also viewed a few different ways to inject the hormone, most of them were the pens. It seems a lot easier than having to mix her medicine every 7 days. With the one we chose, the medicine is already in there and you just switch out needles and it lasts like 15 days I believe. It sounds good but I am going to do some research as well. It is called Nordiflex.
Once the doctors get in touch with Tricare and they approve it, the drug company will call us and deliver it to us. Oh yea, if we get the 10mg pen then it doesn't have to be cold. That will be really nice for long trips. It was definitely not fun changing out ice and ice packs for long trips!
The girls were really bad today. It was so horrible. I think everyone was glad when we finally left lol. There was one point that I looked over in the room and Liliana took off her shoes, diaper and jeans. Apparently she needed to be changed!!! Liliana had to have everything done that Wynter did. She even sat up on the bed with Wynter and made the doctor do all the stuff on her haha.
Wynter's doctor also ordered another heart ultrasound once our Pediatric here approves of it. We obviously won't be doing that for another 6 months as well because it is in the same area so we don't have to make many trips there.
Then tomorrow we have to drive to Fort Collins, which is like 40-45 minutes away because Wynter has an eye appointment at 8:00am! Barry is going to be so tired from working tonight, I feel bad. Especially since he has to work nights for a few days and will be late going into work again tomorrow because I have a doctor's appointment at 3:00pm and obviously can't bring the girls with me.

Whew, that does sound like a long day. I'm glad everything seems to be okay.
