Day 2 of Garmisch

We woke up late (or should I say Barry) so we didn't get the yummy hotel breakfast! Oh well..there's always tomorrow morning. After we got ready for our day we drove to base to get some donuts and drinks. Then we decided to go back to the Neuschwanstein Castle like we did last year. We didn't go back in the castle because you really can't take pictures and we already seen it before. We walked alllll the way up to the castle and good grief it is a long hike up there! We took some more pictures of the outside and the hike up there. Then on the way back we were going to take the horse carriage ride so the girls could see them but they weren't going back down for a little bit. We decided to walk back down and not wait around in the cold. After the castle, we came back to the hotel for a few hours and then went out to dinner. Of course the girls didn't want what we were having (pizza) so we stopped to McDonald's and got them a kids meal for back at the hotel. And now we are just sitting around hanging out and relaxing tonight.

Oh yea, we got stuck in an elevator today! We got in and went down one floor to let these people off and then the doors closed and Wynter decided to be a little pest and push the emergency button. Well, they came over the speaker and asked if we had an emergency, etc. We explained what had happened and they said okay and hung up. Shortly after that we realized we weren't moving, the doors wouldn't open and the lights around the "floor" buttons weren't lit up anymore. This time we had to press the emergency button and explain we did have an emergency after all. Someone came and talked to us through the doors and said they had to send for someone to let us out. You know how there's two doors to an elevator? Well, if you opened up one door, you would walk out onto the first floor with no problem, but the second door opened and it was 4-5 feet down to the Lobby floor. When they sent someone to get us out, they opened the second door and realized they had to open the other one because obviously we would have had to jump down to get out. So, they came upstairs and opened the door for us. BUT we were in there for 5-10 minutes and a few seconds before they came to get us out, the power went completely out. The girls didn't completely cry, but they did start to whine a little. After all that, we got out of the elevator and walked down the stairs to get to the other elevator to go to the parking garage and the door started to shut, so I ran to hold it and so did Wynter, but when she did she ran into the door and bounced off it, lol! She didn't seem hurt but sure did stop the door from closing!

....Another day tomorrow :)
